About Roy's Work

I currently work, in the Washington DC Metro Area, as the Managing Director of One World Information System, a non-profit educational corporation that I founded in 1994.  During that period, until January 2008, I worked, in reverse order, as:

• Senior Director (Enterprise Architecture Practice Lead, CTO) for Battle Resource Management, Inc.,
• Chief Architect for CommIT Enterprises, Inc.,
• Chief Enterprise Architect for G&B Solutions, Inc.,
• Director of IT for TranTech, Inc.,
• Task Manager of the DoD Next Generation eBusiness and eCommerce Architecture system engineering contract for a computer systems integrator (Computer Based Systems, Inc. - CBSI, a subsidiary of L3),
• Principal Information Engineer and Business Analyst with Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC),
• 10 years working as a Senior Manager and Management Analyst for the U.S. Government (US), Department of Defense (DoD), Army Military Department (Army) and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) employee, and
• 10 years as a Commissioned Officer in the US, DoD, Army, Air Defense Artillery (ADA) Branch.

My career effort is driven by what I refer to as Context Engineering, which I seek to apply and have recognized as a professionally-certified Engineering field within my lifetime.  The current International Standards Organization (ISO) efforts in ISO 14258 (Enterprise Modeling) and ISO 15704 (Enterprise Reference Architecture and Methodology) are beginning to approach my Context Engineering concept, as is the semantic approach known as "axiology" (i.e., GEM provides the ability to unify value-streams/chains into a more holistic structure).
